This will be the first time that Brady and Bouzkova will be facing off in a competitive match.

Brady had gotten through to the quarterfinal of three WTA competitions including a $125k event in 2019, proceeding to the semifinal at Nottingham and the final at the New Haven Open.
Things got that much better this year when Brady needed to qualify for the main draw in Brisbane and she did not just do that but also reached the quarterfinals. Petra Kvitova got the better of her that match.
A couple of first round defeats at the Australian Open and St. Petersburg Open might have dented some of that new-found confidence but that was back on display in Dubai. Again, needing to qualify for the tournament, she won three matches to make the main draw before stunning Elina Svitolina (6-1, 6-2), Marketa Vondrousova and Garbine Muguruza to make the semifinal.
The American went on to register a few more wins at the World TeamTennis, but her true test was to come when tennis resumed. And she has passed that with flying colours, beating both Heather Watson and Magda Linette in straight sets to seal her quarterfinals.

Bouzkova Continues to Glitter
Much like Brady, Bouzkova has shown excellent form in recent times after having crashed out early in tournaments in the initial part of the season. After qualifying for the Brisbane International, she lost three successive matches in the opening round and with a couple of wins at an ITF competition, she went down in the opener at Acapulco as well.
Her return to form came in Monterrey where she stunned Wang Yafan and Johanna Konta to make it to the final. There she went down to Elina Svitolina, narrowly failing to win her maiden WTA title in the process.
And then, in the first tournament she has played since tennis returned, Bouzkova went on to defeat Konta yet again in the first round, winning 6-4, 6-4. She made it two in two when she crushed Anna Blinkova 6-4, 6-2 in the second round to set up this meeting.
