Casper Ruud v Ugo Humbert Head to Head
This will be the third meeting between the two players. Both their previous meetings came earlier this year.
They each have one win against each other. Casper Ruud’s win came in the Hamburg Open on a clay court. Ugo Humbert’s victory came in the ATP Auckland Open on a hard court; a tournament that he eventually ended up winning.

He’s lost three of his last five matches and has faced immediate elimination in his last two tournaments. He’s also not won a set in his last three matches, which shows that he’s seen a sudden dip in his form.
Up against a buoyed Humbert, those statistics don’t bode well for the 21-year-old Norwegian.

Humbert To Carry On From Antwerp Win
Humbert will be looking to ride that winner’s momentum when he takes to the court against Ruud. He was impressive in his run to the title in Belgium, only conceding two sets in his five matches, and defeating seeds like Pablo Carreno-Busta and Alex De Minaur in style.
That win propelled him to his current 32nd-place career ranking, which is his best ever.
And unlike his opponent, he thrives on hard courts. His strong serves, great motion, and tenacity help him to thrive on such faster courts. He should also be glad that he’s finally picked up some form, which seems to have come at an opportune moment. That form should flow into this tournament, and may eventually be decisive in his first-round match against Ruud.

At no surprise, Humbert is a strong favorite at 1/3. Casper Ruud’s form and woes on anything that isn’t clay could make for a quick tie, and possibly make a straight sets win for Humbert another lucrative option.
Humbert will want to show that he can go deep into the tournament with an impressive first-round match and avenge his recent loss to Ruud in September. As he always does, he should be expected to start strong, and therefore gives some value in the market down below.
