Andrey Rublev v Marton Fucsovics Head to Head

The players have met three times, with Rublev leading the head-to-head 2-1. The Russian prevailed earlier this year at the Rotterdam final in straight sets and got a walkover when Fucsovics pulled out of their final eight last week in Doha.

The Rublev Run At ATP 500s Continues…

Andrey Rublev has been in phenomenal form of late, winning five titles in 2020, making his first ever Tour Finals and breaking into the top eight of the ATP rankings.

He continued his strong run of form at the start of the season too, leading Russia to the finals of the ATP Cup, alongside Daniil Medvedev and winning all his matches. The Russian continued his run at the Australian Open, where he was in ominous form until the quarter-finals and ran into compatriot Daniil Medvedev and lost in straight sets.

The Russian added to his title count at Rotterdam winning another ATP 500 defeating Fucsovics in the final. With a first round bye and two walkovers (including one against Marton Fucsovics) last week in Doha, he looked a strong favorite for another title, but was eclipsed in straight sets in the semi-finals by Roberto Bautista Agut.

If there were any concerns about his form or fatigue after Doha, Rublev ensured he addressed all of that with convincing straight set wins against Emil Ruusuvuori and Taylor Fritz here this week, dropping only eight games against the former and making a statement dropping only four games against the in-form American, Fritz.

Rublev has now won 22 matches in a row at ATP 500s and does not look like there is any stopping him at the moment.

Good Start To ’21 For Fucsovics

Hungary’s Marton Fucsovics has had a good season thus far and is now meeting Andrey Rublev for the third time in as many weeks for a spot in the final four here at the ATP 500 in Dubai.

Fucsovics made a mark Down Under with a hard fought five set win at the Australian Open against 2014 champion Stan Wawrinka. This was followed by a deep run at the Rotterdam ATP 500 doing well to overcome challenging opponents like Reilly Opelka and Borna Coric before losing in the final to none other than Andrey Rublev himself.

With wins against Dusan Lajovic and Lloyd Harris last week, the Hungarian looked in good touch but a niggle saw him pull out of a quarter -final against Rublev.

Any fitness woes seemed to have been put to rest by Fucsovics this week, as he has registered hard fought wins against Vasek Pospisil, Dusan Lajovic and number six seed Pablo Carreno Busta, with all going to the decider.

Fucsovics will be hoping to add to his sole title at the 2018 Geneva Open, but first he will need to overcome the challenge of the currently relentless Andrey Rublev.

Rublev v Fucsovics Prediction and Tip

Rublev and Fucsovics met in the Rotterdam final couple weeks back and now they meet again. The Hungarian has done well this season but Rublev right now is close to unstoppable.

Fucsovics to put up a good show, but nothing to stop Rublev. Expect the Russian to win in straight sets.

Tip: Rublev to win in straight sets:  4/7 (bet365)
