Djokovic Expected to Come Out Firing

At the best of times Djokovic doesn’t spare too many of his opponents, especially those ranked as low as Kwon is. However, coming into this tournament on the back of a shock early loss at the Monte-Carlo Masters, Djokovic can be expected to be super-charged to show is the boss.

It had taken Daniel Evans to relegate Djokovic to his first defeat of the season after the world number one had won 10 in a row to win the Australian Open and then make it to the third round in Monte-Carlo. There, he fell in straight sets to his Brit opponent, later calling the defeat one of his worst ever performance on court.

Djokovic will now want to get to the kind of winning ways that had seen him dominate most of his opponents earlier this season. At the Australian Open, for instance, Djokovic had had his difficulties but that was down to a side injury and he had still found a way to clinch his victory.

So much so that by the end, by the time he had reached the final, Djokovic was firing all cylinders. Expect him to do something similar in what is the first edition of the Serbia Open since 2011. An easy first round opponent awaits.

Kwon Stuns Spanish Opponent

Having reached the quarterfinal at the Marbella Open a few days back, Kwon continued his good form with a straight-set first round win over Roberto Carballes Baena. Kwon won 6-3, 7-5 in an hour and 38 minutes to clinch his second round berth where he faces the world number one for the first time.

The first set began with Carballes Baena breaking first but Kwon struck back with a break of serve to make it 2-2 and then made it two breaks of serve in a row to take a 4-2 lead. And soon after, serving for the set, he won the game to love to take a set lead in the match.

The second set had the stamp of an easy win written all over it when Kwon broke his Spanish opponent to go 4-2 up but he first muffed up a match-point on Carballes Baena’s serve, and then failed to serve out the match at 5-4. The Korean, however, came back to break his opponent in the very next game and then won the natch by serving to 15.

Can Kwon come close to testing out Djokovic in this one?

Djokovic v Kwon Prediction and Tip

Djokovic is 1/25 to win this and 1/6 to do that in straight sets which seems to be a decent betting option. Expecting Djokovic to steamroll his Korean opponent here.

Tip: Djokovic to win AND Under 17.5 games: 5/6 (bet365)
