Bianca Andreescu v Maryna Zanevska Head to Head
No previous matches have been played between Andreescu and Zanevska.
Andreescu Routs Lazaro Garcia
She was playing in her first match on clay for this season but it did not look like that. Or the fact that playing against someone ranked outside the top 250 helped.
One way or the other, Andreescu did not waste too much time on court in getting past her opponent, Andrea Lazaro Garcia as she romped to a 6-1, 6-2 victory.
In a match that lasted an hour and two minutes, Andreescu received five break-points and broke her opponent every single time of those five. In turn, she was down a break-point on just one of the occasions, and easily saved it to complete the win.
Earlier this season, Andreescu had reached the final at the Miami Open which was her first entry into the title-deciding round since the 2019 US Open, a title she had won first time ever.
And with the kind of start she has made, it does look like Andreescu should have no major issues coming into this one.
Zanevska Overcomes Fellow Qualifier
Yuliya Hatouka had needed to win just one match in the qualifying stage to come through to the main draw but that’s where Zanevska seemed to have take advantage of her opponent.
The 259th-ranked Zanevska carved out a 6-2, 6-1 win in her first round match over her fellow qualifier to make it through to a main draw win for the first time in years.
The Belgian player needed less than an hour to register the victory, breaking Yuliya Hatouka six times and while she was broken once in the match, it came as early as in the first game of the opening set, After that there was no looking back as Zanevska carved out 12 of the next 14 games to pocked t he encounter.
Andreescu will prove a marked change in their opposition strength but it might see Zanevska put up some fight.
Andreescu v Zanevska Prediction and Tip
A straight set win looks possible for Andreescu and while she might not drop a set, it would turn out to be a fighting match.
