Tereza Martincova v Caroline Dolehide Head to Head
Their only previous outing came at the 2019 Wimbledon qualifying rounds and Martincova had won that in straight sets.

It wasn’t the best of seasons for Martincova, especially on clay with the Czech losing six of the eight matches she played in on the surface.
Before that, it looked like Martincova was making all the right moves as she moved up from 129th in the world to 92nd thanks to her early round wins at some of the top WTA competitions on hard court surfaces.
As a qualifier at three of those tournaments, in Lyon, Dubai and Miami, Martincova won her opening round encounter before falling in the second. She also got a direct entry to the St. Petersburg Open and entered round two there.
She now kick-starts her time on grass with a second round match here following an opening bye, but rather interestingly, Martincova hasn’t yet won a main draw match on grass yet. Can she notch up her first here?

Dolehide with Maiden Main Draw Win for 2021
Once with a career-best of 102nd in the world, Dolehide has fallen to outside the top 160 in the world at the moment and that has been down to her poor form this season.
Which is why when she took on Giulia Gatto-Monticone in her opening round match here, there wasn’t much to choose between the two with bookmakers offering 5/6 for her victory to 10/11 for her opponent to scoop it.
Not surprising either, given Dolehide had come into this tournament on the back of having not won a single main draw WTA match and just one match on the ITF circuit.
Which is also why a 6-4, 6-3 drubbing of Gatto-Monticone in her opener was so much of a relief.
Can she now pick up her second win of the tournament against someone who has never won on grass?
Martincova v Dolehide Prediction and Tip
Martincova’s experience at the highest level in recent times make her a favourite despite the lack of victories on grass. She should win this but could see a tough one pan out.
