The Czech also reached the third round of a WTA 1000 tournament for the first time, when she beat Kristyna Pliskova and Kiki Bertens en route the Round of 16 in Dubai. She had come through the qualifying rounds, and had won four in a row, before falling to Cori Gauff in the Round of 16.
