Will Bautista-Agut feel under-cooked by his results this season so far? Probably not.

Would he be over the moon. Definitely not.

Because for the world number 11 to have won 19 and lost 13 of his matches doesn’t sound most extraordinary by any stretch.

Especially not after the Spaniard had looked like he was getting a move on, on the hard court surfaces in the first quarter of the season. At Montpellier, he had reached the final, and repeated the same in Doha as well – losing to David Goffin and Nikoloz Basilashvili in those two – before settling in nicely and reaching the Miami Masters semifinal.

A win over Daniil Medvedev in that tournament would have done him a world of good.

Unfortunately for Bautista-Agut, he hasn’t been able to recapture that form on clay, finishing it 7-5 on win-loss.

What would be interesting to see is if Bautista-Agut can now turn things around on grass given he isn’t at his best on this surface despite his maiden career ATP title having come on grass.

Korda at Career-Best Despite French Open Shocker

After Korda won his maiden ATP title at Parma Open without dropping a set in May, there were hopes that the highly-talented American would surprise a few at the following French Open.

Which is also why when he started off at Roland-Garros against Pedro Martinez, he was a whopping 1/3 to win his opener.

Not only did he lose that first round match but he won a total of just eight games in the encounter to leave fans slightly shocked.

Korda will now open his grass court campaign, which incidentally will be his first ever match on the ATP circuit on this surface. His only previous match in all of competitive tennis on grass came at the Boodles Exhibition tournament in 2018 and he lost that match-up to Radu Albot.

With no real record on grass to go by, we believe it would be a testing encounter first up for the American. Against a player who is ranked 11th in the world, it could get tougher.

Bautista-Agut v Korda Prediction and Tip

This will be a tough one on Korda, expecting him to get past Bautista-Agut in his first competitive match on grass. He will put up a fight but a Bautista-Agut win looks most likely.
