Nina Stojanovic v Vitalia Diatchenko Head to Head
There is quite a bit of rivalry between the two ladies, with the head to head tally tied at 2-2.
Stojanovic has won their last two meetings on the WTA Tour, with their last match in the 2020 Cincinnati Open ending in a 6-4, 6-4 win for the Serbian.

Vitalia Diatchenko was among the many players who had a late start to their 2021 season. After last year’s French Open in October, she didn’t play competitive tennis up until an ITF event in May.
Her start to the tour was depressing – three, back to back, first-round losses including the opening qualifying match loss to Ellen Perez at the Roland Garros. In Birmingham Classic, she won both of her qualifying matches to finally get her first few wins of the season. However, her run was stopped in the main draw by Shuai Zhang in round one.
The same was the trend in Wimbledon too where she navigated her qualifying rounds, but only to lose to Emma Raducanu in the first round.

Stojanovic Looking Significantly Better
24-year-old Nina Stojanovic has had a much better time in 2021 than her Russian opponent. Currently ranked World No. 86 – a good 60 places above Diatchenko – the Serbian has had the pleasure of getting some wins under her belt.
Case in point, she was a semifinalist in the ITF 100 event in Nottingham, beating the likes of Donna Vekic and Tereza Martincova en route. Similarly, Stojanovic also made it to the Miami Open third round as a qualifier, falling ultimately to Naomi Osaka.
That said, consistency is not a strong suit for the Serbian. On clay, she managed to win just three matches – two of which came in the qualifiers. Even in Wimbledon and WTA Birmingham before that, Stojanovic lost her opening-round bouts to Angelique Kerber and Anastasia Potapova respectively.
Stojanovic v Diatchenko Prediction and Tip
30-year-old Diatchenko has got quite a bit of experience on her side but that may not be enough to topple Stojanovic, considering the lack of momentum and form. However, the Serbian is not that consistent either and may very well be stunned here.
Expect a good game of tennis, one that can see three sets.
