Cuevas Hoping to Use His Experience

Cuevas is nearer the end than the beginning of a professional career that began back in 2004. In the intervening years, he has won six senior titles and appeared in four more finals, another none since losing to Stefanos Tsitsipas in Estoril two years ago.

He is also a Grand Slam champion, having won the French Open doubles in 2008.

Once a top 20 player, his ranking has slipped as he has got older.

A semi-finalist in Geneva earlier this year before losing to Denis Shapovalov, Cuevas did win a Challenger event in Lyon in June.

However, he has lost his last two matches, beaten in the first round in both Bastad and Umag.

Ymer Hoping for a Breakthrough Year

The younger of the two Swedish tennis playing brothers, won the doubles In home soil, together with Elias at the Stockholm Open in 2016. That remains his biggest tournament win on the senior tour, although he has been in nine finals on the junior circuit, winning six of them.

Those successes have come in a mixture of hard and clay court events,

He began this year by reaching the third round of a Grand Slam for the first time at the Australian Open, a feat he subsequently emulated at Roland Garros.

However, he has not been further than that in any tournament so far in  2021.

Last week he played in Gstaad where, yet again he got to the third round, before losing to the Czech qualifier Vit Kopriva, the world number 249.

Cuevas v Ymer Prediction and Tip
