Bianca Andreescu v Viktorija Golubic Head to Head

The last time Andreescu stepped on to court at US Open, she defeated Serena Williams to lift the title. Injuries have got the better of her since, forcing her to the miss the tournament last year and bringing her into this year’s competition without too much having gone right.
In fact, it’s been six tournaments now that the Canadian hasn’t won back to back matches, and her performances have generally tapered off since the high of the Miami Open final.
An opening round defeat at Wimbledon, a third round loss at Montreal and only last week, a crushing defeat in the second round at the hands of Karolina Muchova would have made it difficult mentally for Andreescu.
And while she takes on a player who has just two WTA titles under her belt, the lack of confidence is something Andreescu will be wary of coming into this one.

Golubic Struggling Since Wimbledon High
The good news for Andreescu is her opponent herself isn’t in the best sort of form on hard court surfaces in recent times.
It wasn’t always like that because prior to shifting her focus to hard court competitions, Golubic had made it to the quarterfinal in Eastbourne as a qualifier but then made a solid mark at Wimbledon.
In a string of shocks, Golubic overcame Veronika Kudermetova, Danielle Collins, Madison Brengle and Madison Keys to make it to the quarterfinal where she fell to the eventual finalist Karolina Pliskova.
Unfortunately for her, Golubic hasn’t been able to do a lot more since, losing in the second round at the Tokyo Olympics, opening rounds at Montreal and Cincinnati and then again in the second round at Chicago recently.
In a battle against another player who hasn’t had any sort of form, Golubic might back herself but will her opponent’s pedigree shine through?
