Simon Struggling for Form

Three-time Metz champion, Simon has just not got going this season. The 36-year-old Frenchman brings a 3-15 season record to the Moselle Open and will be desperate to get a few wins under his belt.

A semifinalist in Marseille last year, Simon has not just struggled on the tour but has also found the going tough at the Challenger level. His only wins on the tour this year came against Elias Ymer in Melbourne-2, Stefano Travaglia in Cagliari and Arthur Rinderknech in Winston-Salem.

Simon, who had to withdraw from the U.S. Open after his coach returned a positive test for COVID-19, is 2-5 on hard surfaces this year.

A 14-time champion on the tour from 22 finals, Simon won the Moselle Open crown. in 2010,2013 and most recently in 2018. He was also a finalist in 2015, but fell to Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. Overall, Simon is 21-8 in the tournament and could only reach as far as the second round in the last edition in 2019.
