Marie Bouzkova v Misaki Doi Head to Head

The pair have never played each other once before, this will be the first meeting between the 23-year old Czech, and the Japanese, who is seven years older.

Birmingham Doubles Winner Bouzkova

Another off the seemingly endless production line of talented Czech tennis players, Bouzkova won the 2014 US Open girls’ singles title, but rose to prominence at the 2019 Rogers Cup where she beat a string of big name players in getting to the semi-finals.

She had to wait a little longer though to finally claim a trophy, winning her maiden WTA title earlier this year in doubles at the Birmingham Open with compatriot Lucie Hradecká.

After that, Bouzkova had a difficult run, losing in the first rounds of Wimbledon, Prague, San Jose, and Montreal and failing to qualify for Cincinnati. She then suffered two more first round defeats in Chicago and the US Open, but finally ended that dismal sequence in Luxembourg.

There she beat Shuai Zhang of China and Greetje Minnen of Belgium, before she was well beaten by the eventual champion Clara Tauson of Denmark.

Doi Struggling for Form

It has been six years since Doi’s one and only senior tournament win at the Luxembourg Open, although she has been in two finals since, the most recent of which was on home soil in Japan in September 2019.

Once ranked as high as 30 in the world, she has now dropped out of the top 100, an indication of her recent form.

In fact, since being picked to play for her country at the Olympics, where she got to the second round, losing to the eventual gold medallist Belinda Bencic, she has only won one match, and that was in the opening round of the US Open, where she beat a qualifier, before losing to the American Jessica Pegula.

Since then, she has been defeated in the opening round in Luxembourg and failed to get out of qualifying in Ostrava.

Bouzkova v Doi Prediction and Tip

This is a match betwe4en two out of form players. However, because Bouzkova is the higher ranked and went further than Doi in Luxembourg, she is tipped to come out on top.
