Laslo Djere v Lorenzo Musetti Head to Head

The pair have played each other three times before, and Djere was won on each occasion. Their first two matches were on clay, in Sardinian last year and Cagliari this and their most recent encounter was on the indoor hard courts of Nur-Sultan.

Can Djere Improve on His Paris Record?

Djere is one of those Serbian players happiest on a clay court, as evidenced by the fact that all three of his senior finals have been on that surface, including his most recent in April when he lost to the Italian Lorenzo Sonego in Parma.

His record in major tournaments – Grand Slam and Masters events – is poor for so highly ranked a player, and, in particular, his record in Paris is nothing to be proud of, never having got beyond the first round here.

Nor has he arrived in France this time in the best of form. Since reaching the quarter-final in Nur Sultan, he has only won one match, and he has been beaten at the first round stage in his last three tournaments – in Indian Wells, Moscow, and St. Petersburg.

Musetti Warming Up for Milan

Last week, Musetti became the sixth man to book his place in the Nextgen ATP finals, a fitting reward for a  year that was seen him break into the top 100, and then keep rising.

However, despite that he was still made to qualify in Paris, beginning with a  match against local man Lucas Pouille, coming from a set down to earn himself a match with another local man, Hugo Gaston, for a  place in the main draw.

Again, Musetti was on the back foot from the start, dropping the opening set, but he rallied, levelled the match, and he forced the decisive break in the third set that allowed him to close out the win.

Djere v Musetti Prediction and Tip

Djere has a very poor record in Paris, but this is an ideal opportunity to improve on that against an opponent who he has beaten in all their previous meetings.
