It has been a mixed season thus far for rising American Sebastian Korda.
Korda started the year defeating 2021 Indian Wells winner Cam Norrie convincingly at the Aussie Open where he made tbe third round before losing out to Pablo Carreno Busta.
A good start at the Delray Beach Open saw him make the final eight but this time Norrie prevailed and then a first round loss at Acupulco followed heading into the Sunshine Masters.
After defeating Thanasi Kokkinakis convincingly in the opener, Korda was up 5-2 in the decider against 21-time major title winner Rafael Nadal. However, nerves got the better of the American who lost the set and match in the tiebreak.
Korda will hope for a strong run here in Miami as the hard court season takes a breather heading into the clay swing.

Fokina Hoping To Improve Season Record
It has not been the best of starts this season for Spain’s Alejandro Davidovich Fokia. He has only won three matches and lost seven already this year and now runs into a difficult opener here at the Miami Open.
The season start Down Under was not too promising with a loss in the opener at Sydney and a second round loss at the Aussie Open to Felix Auger- Aliassime.
While Montpellier, Rotterdam and Dubai were all first round losses, it was a better effort by the Spaniard in Doha where he made the final eight before losing out to compatriot Roberto Bautista Agut.
A good opening round win at Indian Wells against Borna Coric impressed, but he lost out in a deciding set next round to in-form Canadian Denis Shapovalov.
Fokina will hope to course correct his season sooner rather than later and a confidence seeking win against the likes of Korda will set the path for just that.
Korda v Fokina Prediction and Tip
This makes for an exciting encounter between two rising players. Given the form Fokina has been in, Korda starts as the favorite and can be expected to prevail in a well-matched contest, in a decider.
