Felix Auger-Aliassime v Sebastian Korda Head to Head

They played once before and it came in Acapulco last year with Auger-Aliassime winning 6-3 6-4.

Auger Building Confidence ahead of Madrid & Rome

Felix Auger-Aliassime had a horror clay season last year pretty much losing every match he played. This year he opened the year in superb fashion but that form cooled off quite a bit since then. Clay season has been rough once more which is strange because the Frenchman did rather well on it as a teenager.

Now he’s struggling quite a bit but some wins in Barcelona got him back on track. He travelled to Estoril and in his first set here he looked terrible. Carlos Taberner is a player who pushed him to three last week but in Estoril, he smashed him 6-1 in the first set.

Auger did not panic and started playing much better in the 2nd set opting to be quite aggressive. Deep balls were very trick for the Spaniard to handle and he sprayed errors in the next two sets sending Felix to the quarterfinal.

Korda Getting Back to Winning Ways

Sebastian Korda had a shocking exit in Barcelona early losing to the player whom Felix beat twice in two weeks. It was a terrible performance against Korda as he was unable to hit the court. Obviously, he’s not as worse as that and he proved that in Estoril.

Round one win over Pierre Hebert got him back on track and another win over Benjamin Bonzi should see him enter the match against Felix quite ready. Korda did have some moments against Bonzi where he looked quite disinterested in tennis but it was a long day and late match.

When it mattered the most, Korda stepped up and played as well as he needed to. He’s 12-7 on the year overall and it’s been pretty solid lately. If he can hit the corners as he did against Bonzi he’ll be in good shape.

Auger-Aliassime v Korda Prediction and Tip

This is a very hard match to predict. Overall Felix has had the better season but in the past two months, they’ve been pretty equal. On clay, I find Korda to be much more comfortable than Felix and he played one more match here which could be significant.

Both will need their serve to work well if they hope to win the match and both have served rather well so far. It’s going to come down to the player who is more consistent and who makes fewer mistakes. Both can win but both can also lose.

It’s just very tricky to call as they are quite even. I tend to lean Korda just cause he played one more match and generally looked better on clay recently. I do think we’ll get three sets as neither was 100 % comfortable the entire time. I’ll back Korda but the over is the safer play.

Tip: Korda to win in three sets: 3/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
