Jil Belen Teichmann v Olga Danilovic Head to Head

The pair have never played each other before. This will be the first match between the 24 year old Swiss player, and the Serb, who is three years younger.

Teichmann Overwhelms American

Teichmann, the Swiss number two, has been in fine recent form on clay, reaching the semi-finals in Madrid and the last eight in Rome.

And she seems to have carried that form with her to Paris, if her first round match is anything to go by.

Playing the American Bernarda Pera, it took her just over an hour to beat the world number 116.

The match began with the pair exchanging breaks, but it was the only sign of weakness the Swiss woman showed all afternoon. She soon broke Pera again and then a further break gave her the first set.

Pera saved break points early in the second set, but the respite was short-lived. She was broken again, and then for a final time, leaving Teichmann with the simple task of serving out.

Danilovic Saves Match Points Against Hungarian

Danilovic was making her main draw debut at Roland Garros on Sunday, having never having previously qualified for this tournament.

But having battled past three opponents in consecutive three set matches to get to that stage, she did not let the occasion overawe her and produce yet another fighting performance against the Hungarian world number 96, Dalma Galfi.

She started badly though, dropping her opening service game, and then another break put the Hungarian in control of the first set. She recovered one of the breaks, but it was not enough.

And when she was the first to drop her serve in the second set she may have feared the worse. But she steadied herself, and broke back immediately, only to fall a break behind again.

That gave Galfi the chance to serve for the match and she had two match points. She could convert neither of them, however, and, instead it was Danilovic who broke back. And it was she who won the subsequent tie-break.

The tide had begun to turn by this stage and it was the Serb who soon found herself two breaks up in the deciding set. Galfi got one of them back, but dropped her serve again, and this time Danilovic had the chance to serve for the match, which she took.

Teichmann v Danilovic Prediction and Tip

Danilovic has shown a lot of character to get this to this stage, but she is not only playing an opponent who is of a different calibre than those she has faced so far, but who is in fine form on clay. It is hard to look beyond a Teichmann  win.

Tip: Teichmann to win in straight sets: 1/3 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
