Miomir Kecmanovic v Alexander Bublik Head to Head

The pair have played each other twice before, and the current head to head record is one win apiece.

Bublik won their first match on the indoor hard courts of Nur-Sultan last year, but, just a few weeks ago, it was Kecmanovic who triumphed on the clay of Madrid.

Kecmanovic Eases Past Argentine

Kecmanovic has been in good form this season and came to Paris at an all-time high ranking, and seeded here for the first time.

He eased his way into the second round with a  comfortable win over the Argentine world number 88, Tomas Martin Etchcverry.

The Serb began strongly, breaking his opponent in the opening service game. He surrendered that break but two more breaks of his own earned him the first set.

The second set was closely contested with the pair swapping breaks and then again, interspersed with some long games, one of which featured 11 deuces. However, Etcheverry dropped his serve once more, and then again, and Kecmanovic found himself two sets to the good.

The third set went with serve until the eighth game when the Argentine was broken to love. That left Kecmanovic with the simple task of serving out next game.

Bublik Untroubled by Local Man

Having only won once on clay this year prior to Tuesday, Bublik’s expectations may have been low ahead of his first round match with Arthur Rinderknech of France, the world number 68.

However, despite the support of the home crowd, Rinderknech proved no match for him in the end.

The local favourite began badly, losing his two opening service games, and Bublik was able to consolidate on that to take the first set.

In a second set largely dominated by serve, one break was all that Bublik needed to claim it.

It was the same story in the third set as Rinderknech exited his home Grand Slam with barely a whimper.

Kecmanovic v Bublik Prediction and Tip

Although their head to head record is even, there is a recent form guide on clay in the fact that they met in Madrid just last month. Kecmanovic won that match, and will start the clear favourite to do so again.
