Benjamin Bonzi v Feliciano Lopez Head to Head

Benjamin Bonzi had a very good grass season last year (7-2 record) and will be happy to be play here in Stuttgart for the first time. He is currently 22-12 on all surfaces this season.
Despite being ranked 52 in the world, Bonzi is still adjusting to the main tour. He hasn’t yet been able to find big wins or consistent runs and prefers to keep going back to challengers to find his best level.
The Frenchman won the Cherbourg challenger (Indoor Hard) in February and Aix en Provence challenger (Clay) last month.
He has been having trouble holding his serve against top opponents, and he will be hoping to get it right soon because on the green surface, there is nothing more important.
French players have traditionally done well on grass, and only aged 25, Bonzi has time to construct and define his game on grass.

Lopez Searching for his First Victory this Year
Initially listed in the qualifying draw, Feliciano Lopez received a wild card into the main draw. Lopez has played 8 matches this season and has lost them all. He will be hoping his most successful surface will give him a much needed win.
The Spanish veteran has a great record in Stuttgart having reached the final in 2017, and has reached the semifinal and quarterfinal twice.
Lopez has 7 career ATP titles of which, 4 have come on grass and his recent two titles were on the same surface. He has an excellent serve and volley game, suited for grass and being in the tail end of his career, this could last grass season of his career.
The 39-year-old is currently the second oldest player in the top 200 after Roger Federer. He is also the current tournament director of the Madrid Masters.
Bonzi v Lopez Prediction and Tip
Although Bonzi’s game is not yet varnished for grass, the struggles Lopez has shown on tour all year clearly indicates that his prestigious career is nearing an end. Once his first serve doesn’t drop in, he barely has a chance to win that point anymore. This is not sustainable, and Bonzi should be able to crawl out a victory here.
