That result took her into the last eight to face countrywoman Daria Kasatkina. But her compatriot was a tad too good, as she lost 4-6 6-7. Kudermetova leaves Paris in fine spirits. She has since re-entered the Top 30 climbing about 10 spots to World No. 24.
The 25-year-old will embark on another title bid this week at the Rosmalen Open. She has reached three finals already this season, finishing on the losing side. Could that change this week?

Jeanjean Earns Another Wild Card
Leolia Jeanjean was a virtually unknown player at the top-tier of women’s tennis until last week. The 26-year-old Montpellier native recorded the biggest result of her career when she authored an upset win over the former World No. 1 Karolina Pliskova in the second round of Roland Garros.
Jeanjean ranked 227 in the world before the clay Slam had earned a wild card into the main draw of a Grand Slam for the first time. But she was unfazed by the occasion and her opponents.
Her blend of aggression, controlled power, and slices, proved detrimental to the likes of Parrizas-Dias and then Pliskova, who couldn’t quite match up to the pace and tenacity of the Frenchwoman.
Jeanjean will swap the dirt of Paris for the grass of the Rosmalen Open where a second wild card awaits. She has already climbed over 70 spots in the rankings, peaking at a career-high No. 149. Will she master another major win over the experienced Kudermetova?
