Magdalena Frech v Yuriko Miyazaki Head to Head
Frech leads the H2H 1-0 having won in a ITF clay tournament last year. Frech won in straight sets in the round of 16 match of Bonita Springs ITF event.

World number 92 will maker her first appearance on grass this season when she takes on Japanese-British player Yuriko Miyazaki.
Frech has been knocking on the door of breaking into the top 80 for a while now as her ranking has hovering between 85 and 100. She has a good career record in the ITF level on grass and will be looking to make a mark here in Nottingham.
She played here in 2018 and reached the round of 16. The Polish is 14-15 this year and has been desperately looking to make a run in a WTA event.

Qualifier Miyazaki Through to the Main Draw
Miyazaki came through two impressive qualifying wins to appear in the main draw. She beat Gabriela Lee in three sets in the first match and overcame Astra Sharma in three sets too as a major underdog in the match.
Miyazaki lost the first set in both here qualifiers. But she bounced back strongly in both matches and ended up beating Sharma 6-0 in the third set.
After having a very strong year in 2021, she has had a mixed season with a 16-14 record. Earlier this season, she played in WTA Lyon (Indoor hard) and was very impressive despite losing in the first round.
The Japanese-British player is technically adept and will be giving Frech a tough challenge.

Frech has not been winning many matches though she faces a player more than 100 places below her in the rankings. Having come through the qualifiers, Miyazaki will be more settled while Frech might take more time to find her range. The longer the match goes on, the quality of Frech will prove to be decisive.
