World number 64, Nakashima came through a grueling three setter against fellow compatriot Tommy Paul. The match had three tie breaks, which Nakashima won 6-7(4), 7-6(5), 7-6(2).

Nakashima played the Surbiton challenger in a bid to prepare for a full grass season. He has a very suitable game for the grass and will look to improve his 14-14 record this year.

The American is a highly rated talent with no apparent weakness in his game. He is great off both wings, at the net and has a big serve. As his game matures and mentally gains more confidence, he is tipped to be the number one ranked American on the tour very soon.

Querrey in Need of Ranking Points on Favourite Surface

Sam Querrey is currently sitting at 107, whereas his career high ranking was 11. The positive aspect for the American is he has an excellent career record on grass and this is the perfect swing to overturn his ranking direction.

Querrey came through the qualifiers, beating Bernard Tomic in straight sets and Pierre-Hugues Herbert in three sets.

The American veteran then beat Dutch wildcard and fellow veteran, Robin Haase in straight sets in the first round. Querrey found his rhythm in his service games as Haase failed to create a single break opportunity.

Querrey has played this tournament only once in the past (in 2016), and he reached the semifinal in that edition.

Nakashima v Querrey Prediction and Tip

Nakashima has gotten the better of Querrey in their recent clashes however Querrey has much more at stake and will be in the zone for point one. That being said, Querrey will find it much tougher to break Nakashima, and this match could be another one being decided in three tie breaks.
