The 23-year-old British started this tournament as a wildcard and has done quite well to make it to the semifinal. In his first round fixture in Auckland, he defeated Benoit Paire 6-3, 6-2. Thereafter, he met the experienced Portuguese player Joao Sousa whom he moved past in straight sets.

The youngster continued to thrive in Auckland when he set up the quarterfinal bout with the American Taylor Fritz. Norrie maintained his winning streak and handed his American adversary a straight-set defeat to move into the semifinal.

Norrie’s best run in the season behind us came at Lyon, where he was a semifinalist. His most notable win in that tournament was against the American No. 1 John Isner. He had a similar run in Los Cabos and Atlanta.

As for Jan-Lennard Struff, he started his stint in Auckland against the lucky loser Laslo Djere. Djere was forced to retire in the second set owing to an injury and consequently, Struff moved into the second round. There, he met Rub Statham and won that match comfortably with 6-2, 6-1.

His most recent match was against the fourth-seeded Spaniard Pablo Carreno Busta. That match lasted for roughly three hours, with all the three sets going into a tiebreak. Struff proved his mettle by doling out 22 aces and ultimately winning the tie with 7-6(5), 6-7(6), 7-6(7).

The World No. 58 had a rather uneventful spell in 2018. The 28-year-old ended the season with a win-loss record of 23-25 with no singles title. His best run came in Munich and Antwerp, where he was a quarterfinalist.

Cameron Norrie v Jan-Lennard Struff – Who Will Win?

It is fair to say that the two players are evenly matched for this fixture. With the Australian Open right around the corner, both the lads will be keen on getting a win here and building some momentum before heading to Melbourne. This one is too close to call and it can very well go to three sets.
