Jil Teichmann v Daria Saville Head to Head
Their only previous meeting came on the clay court of Palermo where Teichmann overcame Saville in straight sets to move to the second round.

Known for his clay court prowess, Teichmann will hope she can get going on grass as well as she kick-starts her campaign on this surface in Berlin.
Ranked 22nd in the world at the moment, Teichmann enters this competition on the back of a fourth round appearance at the French Open but with just two career main draw matches on grass under her belt.
What makes it worse for Teichmann is she lost both of them, with her only victory on grass having come in the qualifiers of the 2019 Mallorca Open. She had on to lose her very next match.
So while Teichmann has improved to her career-best ranking at the moment, it would take a lot for her to carve things out correctly on a surface she does not do well on. Can she start off with a win against an opponent who might not have a won a lot on grass but has a lot more experience for sure.

Saville Qualifies after Rosmalen Ouster
Starting things out at Rosmalen last week, Saville would have expected to do a lot better than her first round exit in that competition.
The Aussie fell to Caty McNally in her opener, losing in straight sets to a player who was 8/5 odds to clinch the victory.
With her ranking outside the top 100, Saville missed out a chance to make a direct entry here, forcing her to go through the qualifiers. That, by itself, might not be such a bad thing given her opponent is yet to play a match on grass for over a year unlike Saville who has now played three matches.
With that experience under her belt, Saville could even have bit of an advantage over her higher-ranked Swiss opponent.
Teichmann v Saville Prediction and Tip
Things might not pan out as easily as Teichmann might want them to – her grass-rustiness and her opponent’s solid form could combine together to help through to a win even.
