Alex Molcan v Tallon Griekspoor Head to Head
Griekspoor leads the H2H 1-0 winning in the semifinal of Bratislava challenger (Indoor) last year. He won 6-7, 6-3, 6-4.
Molcan Opens Grass Season in Halle
Alex Molcan has little experience on grass. He has only played 3 matches on this surface in his career, which was the Wimbledon qualifiers last year.
Molcan had won his first two matches but lost in five sets in the final round of qualifying. He is yet to play a grass match this season and will start the count in Halle.
The Slovakian has made some very good results in the past two months. He reached the final in Marrakech and Lyon, both on clay. His best surface is clay.
Molcan has established himself into the ATP tour after a breakthrough year in 2021. The left handed player has a very gritty game and has the capabilities to find success in all courts.
Griekspoor Comes Through Qualifiers
Dutch player, Tallon Griekspoor came through against Mats Moraing and Peter Gojowczyk in the qualifiers to seal his spot in the main draw.
Griekspoor played in the Hertogenbosch Open in Netherlands last week. He won the first round against Aljaz Bedene 7-5, 7-5 and lost to Felix Auger Aliassime 6-7(2), 6-7(5) in the second round.
Similar to Molcan, Griekspoor had also done extremely well to establish himself in the main tour. He dominated the challenger level in 2021 and has had a major break through in that period.
The Dutchman has a good serve, extremely good court coverage and is excellent off both wings. He can be a real star and further climb through the rankings by the end of the year.
Molcan v Griekspoor Prediction and Tip
Griekspoor has already played four matches on grass and has won 3, while Molcan will play his first match on grass. Griekspoor has also beaten him in their only H2H and will be confident he can repeat that here in Halle.
