Pablo Carreno Busta v Dusan Lajovic Head to Head

Carreno Busta leads the H2H 3-1 with the most recent coming last year in Hamburg on clay.

Carreno Busta’s Solid Prep For Wimbledon

Pablo Carreno Busta doesn’t like playing on grass and his 7-13 record on the surface certainly speaks volumes to his struggles on the surface. He was 5-11 prior to this year as he went 2-2 on it.

It’s nothing of note but he actually played some very decent tennis. His preparation started in Halle where he defeated Holger Rune and Sebastian Korda losing to Nick Kyrgios in a close match. He then travelled to Mallorca where he lost to a qualifier in a very bad match but it highlighted the struggles he generally has.

Halle allowed him to bail himself out with the serve which is pretty good. It’s a reason why he’s always played well at the US Open where a great serve helps a lot. Mallorca was windy and it bothered him a bit.

Overall his play on the surface is shaky, he has the tools to do well but he just doesn’t like the surface and doesn’t care much for it. Wimbledon was never kind to him but the draw was kind and he hopes to take advantage of that.

Lajovic and Grass – Not a Love Story

Dusan Lajovic is coming to Wimbledon having played only one match o the surface and it was last week in Mallorca where Daniel Altmaier proved much better. The Serbian never liked playing on grass and his 8-22 record confirms that.

He’s always like clay best and his grass play has been very shaky firstly because he doesn’t move that well leaving him very little room to operate. The Grounstrokes and pretty decent but are far more suitable for clay than grass and the serve is not that dangerous for the most part.

If you have a decent block serve you can ensure that he has to attack you and that doesn’t work out that well. It’s been a pretty weak year for Lajovic overall so I don’t see him improving that on grass.

If anything it’s going to take a turn for the worse but it will end soon enough because this should be a defeat for him.

Carreno Busta v Lajovic Prediction and Tip

Neither of these players would enjoy a long stay in London and both would prefer an early vacation. It’s been a struggle for both on clay but Carreno Busta actually has won matches on grass this year. It came against solid players and being the better player overall I think he gets this done.

Tip: Carreno Busta to win in straight sets: 11/10 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
