Kecmanovic Enters Championship Without Grass Win

Miomir Kecmanovic will be playing his third match this grass season in the first round of Wimbledon being seeded 25. He faced consecutive first round exits both in Halle and Mallorca and is still searching for his first win on grass this season.

The Serbian has never made it past the second round in Wimbledon and has a poor career record on grass. However, he did reach the final in Antalya in 2019 but that was his only such run on this surface.

Kecmanovic broke new ground this year making the quarterfinals of the Miami and Indian Wells masters in March. He had a good clay season, reaching the semifinals in Munich. He is 27-14 this year and is on track to have his best season in his career.

The current world number 30 has a good serve and is strong off both wings. He is poised for a physical battle against Millman as both players have a similar game.

Millman Hoping to Make Experience Count

John Millman has been struggling to find wins this year, currently having a 13-18 record on all surfaces.

In Eastbourne last week, he finally had some positives to take as he reached the second the round having come through the qualifiers. In that run, he defeated Henri Laaksonen, Liam Broady and Sebastian Korda.

The Australian doesn’t have a stand out skill, but has incredible endurance and has always been a threat to higher ranked players in Grand Slam tournaments. He has a simple game that doesn’t result in unforced errors and tries to wear out his opponents.

Millman has reached the third round of Wimbledon twice in his career and will be hopeful he can take advantage of Kecmanovic’s poor record on grass.

Kecmanovic v Millman Prediction and Tip

Both players are lacking in confidence coming into this match and neither has had anything to cheer in the previous Grand Slams this year. This will be a tight affair and we could see lot of momentum shifts, this is barely any chance a player takes this in straight sets.

Tip: Four or five sets in the match: 4/7 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
