Camila Giorgi, age 30, will be happy with how she has fared in the grass tournaments this month. Her form has gotten progressively better – which includes a round two stint in Nottingham, a quarterfinal run in Birmingham, and a semifinal feat in Eastbourne.
The Italian defeated a handful of prominent players in these events, notably Garbine Muguruza and Tereza Martincova.
Before this, Camila featured in the fourth round at the French Open – her best result in the Paris Slam.
Now ranked World No. 27, Giorgi has found a new lease on form in the last few weeks – which also marks a significant turnaround in her form from the start of the season where she incurred a litany of early losses.
Moreover, she is a quarterfinalist at the Wimbledon and will fancy herself another deep run in this year’s edition.

Frech, Low on Momentum
Magdalena Frech is set to compete in her first Wimbledon main draw; her last three attempts in London ended in the qualifying rounds.
Although this marks a new high for the Pole, chances are she may not be able to go further this time around. Her preparations for the Slam haven’t been picture perfect as she lost early in three English events. Two of those losses can be excused as they came at the hands of Beatriz Haddad Maia and Garbine Muguruza.
The third one, however, was against Yuriko Miyazaki (ranked in the early 200s).
Frech’s season so far is marked by these early exits. Many of the wins she has picked up have largely come in the qualifying/opening matches although, she did go deep in the Saint-Malo and Paris Challengers.
Giorgi v Frech Prediction and Tip
Giorgi is the clear favourite here; she is experienced and nerves shouldn’t play that huge of a factor in this match.
That said, the Italian likely to be tested as Frech may not go down easy. The match may be a long one but expect the seeded player to come out as the winner.
