Milos Raonic v Stan Wawrinka Head to Head

The two players will be meeting for the eight time in their careers, with Wawrinka leading 4-3. However the two most recent meeting at the US Open and Australian Open, were won by Raonic as a result of some powerful serving. They have only met once indoors, that too at Rotterdam in the 2015 semi finals, which Wawrinka won in two tiebreaks.

Raonic Looks to Continue His Recent Run of Form

After meeting in the last two Grand Slams, (the US Open and Australian Open tournaments), Milos Raonic and Stanislas Wawrinka are scheduled to meet again in the second round of the ATP 500 in Rotterdmam.

2019 has been off to good start for the Canadian Raonic, with an Australian Open quarter final appearance defeating the likes of Nick Kyrgios, Stan Wawrinka and Alexander Zverev on the way. Once a top five ranked player not so long ago, Raonic will look to have a strong outing at Rotterdam and over the year.

Raonic began his campaign at Rotterdam, with a solid straight sets win over German veteran Phillip Kohlschreiber. With his giant serve backed by more solid groundstrokes now, Raonic will fancy his chances to go deep on the hard indoor courts at Rotterdam.

Seeking More Consistent Results, Wawrinka Hoping for a Deep Run

Swiss former world number three Stanislas Wawrinka continues his attempt to regain the form that won him three Grand Slam titles before his knee injury in 2017, which resulted in some time off from the tour.

Wawrinka began his campaign at Rotterdam against Frenchman Benoit Paire. The Swiss did not look at his best, but an erratic Paire performance worked to Wawrinka’s benefit. With a powerful serve, relentless desire, and among the most explosive backhands on tour, Wawrinka will be looking to regain the form and confidence that won him three Grand Slams, and took him to the final stages of many an ATP tournament.

Going by the first round performances, Wawrinka will have to put a more solid performance to challenge Canadian Raonic.

Milos Raonic v Stan Wawrinka Predictions & Tips

Recent battles between the two have had powerful hitting, and a lot of intensity on either end of the court. We can expect more of the same again. Wawrinka is not an easy customer for any opponent. A slightly slow starter, once he gets his rhythm back, he is unstoppable, with the amount of power he can generate.

However, Raonic has been serving extremely well, and has regained confidence with wins against big names on the tour, in the last month. It will be battle between the Raonic serve and the Wawrinka backhand. It promises to be a tussle between both again; but on current form and consistency, along with the surface suiting the big game, we expect Raonic to win in two straight sets (1/1 at bet365 ).

You can watch & bet on  Milos Raonic v Stan Wawrinka on Wednesday, February 13, after 8:00 pm local time.
