The exact schedule for the 2020 Albany Open will be released soon enough but for now, the tournament will be played in the lead-up to the 2020 US Open. First round matches are expected to begin from Sunday, August 23 and it will go all the way through to Saturday, August 29. Qualifying rounds to be held in the three days before the first round.

What Happened at the 2019 WTA Albany Open?

This is the first ever edition of the Albany Open but there was a WTA tournament held in Albany, called the OTB Open between 1985 and 1994. Juidth Weisner was the last winner of this competition in 1994, as she defeated defending champion Larisa Neiland of Latvia in three sets to clinch the title.
