Taylor Fritz v Jiri Lehecka Head to Head
There have been two previous meetings between these two players and Fritz has won them both. Both matches came earlier this year, at the United Cup and the Monte-Carlo Masters.

Fritz Coming off a Third Round Loss at Toronto
Since his second round loss at Wimbledon, Fritz has come out and featured in all three hardcourt competitions played in the USA.
And while he started off quite brilliantly, winning seven matches in a row including a title victory at the Atlanta Open, Fritz has gone on to lose two of his next three.
This includes a semifinal defeat at the Washington Open to Tallon Griekspoor and a third round at the Canadian Masters at the hands of Alex de Minaur.
Fritz’s record at the Cincinnati Masters is an interesting one with the American having featured here four times – he was knocked out the tournament in the very first round in 2016, 2019 and 2021 while last year he finally found a way to win here, reaching the quarterfinals.
In what could be his last tune-up tournament before the US Open, Fritz will hope to make the game-time count.

Lehecka Hoping to Build on Strong Hardcourt Start
While Lehecka was bundled out of the Canadian Masters in the second round itself, losing to Casper Ruud, he had done well on this surface in the first half this season.
It started with his performance at the Australian Open where he stormed into the quarterfinals at the expense of Felix Auger-Aliassime and Cameron Norrie. Lehecka would then make the semifinal at the ATP Doha and the third round in Miami.
Unfortunately for Lehecka, he hasn’t been able to live up to those performances when the surface changed to clay and grass – winning and losing 13 matches respectively. While that hasn’t had an effect on his rankings too – he has gone down a little from his career-best of 33rd to his current 36th – Lehecka will know he has to get back to his deep runs.
Coming up against a top-10 player in his very first career match he will play at the Cincinnati Masters, Lehecka will know he is up against the odds.
Fritz v Lehecka Prediction and Tip
Fritz will be gunning for a better showing here than he had in Toronto and a quick opening round workout will do him a world of good. Expecting him to come through in two.
Tips:
- Moderate Risk Tip: Fritz to win in straight sets: 7/5
