Interestingly, Jabeur had made the final of the US Open too last year, a match that doesn’t get spoken about as often as her twin Wimbledon finals losses. It indicates Jabeur’s chances in hardcourt competitions too despite her overall struggles in 2023 which has seen her win 24 and lose 11 main draw matches.

Osorio Struggles in Hardcourt Competitions
Her overall career record in outdoor hardcourt competitions isn’t the best anyway but Osorio has more so struggled to get going this year on that surface.
She started off the season with a second round appearance at the Australian Open but since then hasn’t won a main draw match.
The Colombian player fell in the first round of both, the Merida Open and in Monterrey before turning her attention to her favourite clay courts. And resuming action in Cincinnati earlier this month, Osorio fell to a qualifying defeat at the hands of Jasmine Paolini.
Opting to feature in the WTA 125 event in Chicago, Osorio was sent packing in the first round itself, losing to Storm Hunter in straight sets.
