Madison Keys v Emma Navarro Head to Head
Their only previous meeting came at the Charleston Open earlier this season and Keys had won that in straight sets.

Keys Returns after Successful US Open Run
Keys has nudged up to 11th on the WTA Rankings and that has been down to her consistent performances all throughout this season. The latest of those showings came at the US Open where Keys surprised a few fans on her way to the semifinal of the tournament.
Wins over Jessica Pegula and Marketa Vondrousova came against the run of play and in her semifinal against Aryna Sabalenka, Keys had managed to bagel the world number one.
It was Sabalenka’s excellent form and better pedigree that came to the fore but even then, she needed a couple of tie-breakers to thwart Keys from making it to the final.
Earlier this season, Keys had also helped USA win the United Cup title with five singles wins in a row and was the quarterfinalist at Wimbledon.
As a result of these performances, the American is now ninth in the race to the WTA Finals and another solid run here where she had gotten knocked out in the third round last season, will go a long way in helping her nudge up those rankings.
Can she live up to her 3/10 odds (with bet365) to win her opener?

Navarro Too Good for Mateas
Having made it through to the main draw via the qualifiers route, Maria Mateas was in unchartered territories when she took to court. By that context and having gone into her opener as a 1/10 favourite at bet365, Navarro would have thought things might have been a lot easier than they eventually turned out for her against Mateas.
Navarro won 6-0, 6-4 eventually in a match lasting an hour and 14 minutes with Mateas coming back strongly in the second set to go 3-1 up.
It was some solid backs to the wall grind from Navarro which helped her level things out at 3-3 before she took advantage of her opponent’s inexperience in the 10th game. Serving to stay in the match, Mateas went 15-40 down under pressure before Navarro grabbed the break of serve and the match.
Navarro had walked into the tournament on the back of a semifinal appearance at the San Diego Open that helped her break into the top 50 of the rankings for the first time in her career. Another win here will get her close to a top-40 berth.
Can she shrug off the 5/2 winning odds (with bet365) though?
Keys v Navarro Prediction and Tip
Keys might not have it easy but we still think a straight-set win looks likely f0r her.

- Moderate Risk Tip: Keys to win in straight sets: 10/11 (with bet365)
