Jasmine Paolini v Martina Trevisan Head to Head

Jasmine Paolini won her opening round match against America’s Louisa Chirico in straight sets.
The Italian was off to a flying start, bagelling the world no. 201 in the first set.
In the second set, Paolini was broken in the ninth game and faced three set points on Chirico’s serve in the 10th game. But the 15th seed managed to save all three set points as she broke back to stay alive in the set.
Paolini missed out on a match point in the last game but she converted the second match point that she held in the match in the tiebreak to win the one hour and 33 minute contest 6-0, 7-6 (7-3).
Paolini is now 31-25 across levels in 2023 and she ended a three-match losing streak on Sunday.
She has been in decent form throughout the year and recently reached her first WTA 1000 quarterfinal in Cincinnati. She also reached a third WTA final this year in Palermo, but could not add to her only title that she won in 2021.
Paolini also featured in two WTA 125 finals, winning in Firenze and finishing runner-up in Makarska. She is off to a good start in Guadalajara and will be hoping to reach the next round.

Trevisan Trounces Schuurs
Martina Trevisan needed less than an hour to trounce Demi Schuurs in the first round of the tournament on Sunday.
Trevisan was broken in the third game of the match, as Schuurs went up 1-2, but the Italian made a strong comeback, winning the next 11 games in a row to complete a 6-2, 6-0 drubbing of the doubles specialist.
Trevisan lost just 5 points in the second set as she raced past the qualifier.
The left-hander who reached the round of 16 last year is 19-22 across levels this year. She was a quarterfinalist in Miami, Rabat and hamburg this year, but has not won consecutive main draw matches since the Hamburg Open in July.
