Second ATP Semi-Final for Medjedovic
This has already been a season to remember for Medjedovic, who only turned 20 in July.
He won his first ATP match in February, made his Gtand Slam debut in Paris, and reached his first senior semi-final at the Swiss Open, to say nothing of the small matter of having won three Challenger titles.
And now, having been given a wildcard in Astana, he has the satisfaction of having reached another semi-final, and without dropping a set so far.
Fate gave him a helping hand in his opening match with fellow Serb, Dusan Lajovic, his compatriot having to retire with an injury, although Medjedovic was a set and break up at the time.
There was nothing fortunate, though, about the way he beat Alexander Shevchenko in their second round match, a break at the start of each set enough to get the job done.
It was a similar tale in his quarter final defeat of the Czech Jiri Lehecka. A break in each set earned him a match during which his own serve was never seriously threatened.

Korda Beats Top Seed
By contrast, Korda has had to work a lot harder to reach the last four, having had to dig deep to beat the Australian Alexei Popyrin in the first round, eventually prevailing after a three set battle.
And, although he then beat Nuno Borges in straight sets, the Portuguese was in no mood to make it easy for him, and he had to work hard for his victory.
And his reward for all that was a meeting with the top seed, Tallon Griekspoor of the Netherlands, the world number 24.
Although Korda saved an early break point, it was the American who forced the break of serve that enabled him to take the first set.
But an early break put Griekspoor in control of the second set, and, although Korda subsequently saved a set point, Griekspoor made his second count.
The match ultimately hinged on Karda’s opening service game of the third set, in the course of which Griekspoor had two break points.
His failure to convert either of them came back to hurt him, when he dropped his own serve shortly afterwards. Korda was not ready to offer him any second chances after that.
Medjedovic v Korda Prediction and Tip
Medjedovic’s passage to this stage of the tournament has been relatively serene compared to Korda’s but the American represents a step-up in class over the previous opponents he has faced.
The American will win, but he should expect another tough battle if he is to make it through to the final.
