This will be the first match between the 31 year old Hungarian, and the Kazakh, who is a year younger.

Fucsovics’ Form Has Dipped Recently
Fucsovics reached the second round in Shanghai on his only previous visit in 2018, and, although he has played in lots of Masters tournaments since then, he had never been beyond the third round of any of them, until earlier this year.
His fourth round appearance at Indian Wells was a new personal milestone.
The Hungarian’s best performance after that came on the grass of Stuttgart, where he reached the semi-finals.
But his form has dipped in the past few months, and he has failed to progress beyond the second round of any event.
His last match was in Astana, where he was beaten in the first round by the Austrian, taking the first set but then conceding the next two.

Yevseyev Makes Masters Debut Aged 30
Although he turned professional more than a decade ago, it was only in 2020 that Yevseyev made his ATP debut in the doubles in Astana, and it took him until last year to reach his one, and, to date, only Challenger final in Nur Sultan, finishing runner-up.
He has been picked by Kazakhstan in Davis Cup squads but has yet to play a match in that competition.
However, he reached his highest career ranking just a few weeks ago, and he has now qualified for his maiden Masters.
To do so he beat Wu Tung Lin of Taiwan in three sets, and then Yi Zhu of China in two

Whilst Fucsovics has not been in the best of form recently, he is vastly more experienced in Masters events than his opponent, who has had to wait until this stage in his career to make his debut in this type of tournament.
It is difficult to envisage anything other than a Hungarian victory.
