Baez v Sweeny Prediction and Tip
Just being in the second round is a considerable achievement as far as Sweeny is concerned, but, if he had to raise his game to beat Daniel, he will need to go up several levels more to compete with Baez.
In reality, the gap should be too great, and the Argentine will expect to win easily.
Tips & Odds*:
- Low Risk Tip: Baez to win: 2/7 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
- Moderate Risk Tip: Under 20.5 games in the match: 5/6 (Click Here to Bet with 888Sport)
Sebastian Baez v Dane Sweeny Head to Head
The pair have never met before.
This will be the first match between the two 22-years-olds.
Three Titles This Year for Baez
Baez has won three ATP titles already this season, winning the tournaments in Cordoba and Austria, and, most recently, Winston-Salem in August.
The latter was particularly notable for the fact that he won on hard courts for the first time, all his other successes having come on the surface on which he was raised, clay.
The next step in his career is to go deep in a major tournament, and, if he can beat Sweeny, he will have emulated his best performance in a Masters to date, reaching the third round in both Indian Wells and Madrid.
His third round showing at the US Open was the furthest he has yet been in a Grand Slam, and. subsequent to that he travelled to Astana.
However, his stay in Kazakhstan proved to be brief, as he was beaten in the first round by the Austrian, Jurij Rodionov
He was given a first round bye in Shanghai.

Sweeny Stuns Japanese Player
Just qualifying in Shanghai was a major achievement in itself for Sweeny, a man much more used to playing on the ITF tour, and who has little experience of senior events, let alone one as prestigious as a Masters tournament.
He began his match with Taro Daniel, the world number 96 from Japan, as a heavy underdog, but not only did he go on to beat him, but he did it in convincing style as well.
Even when Daniel saved break points in his opening service game, and then went on to drop his serve, it was only expected to be a temporary blip, especially when the Japanese immediately broke back.
Sweeny, though, evidently had not read the script, because he won the next five games in a row, breaking Daniel three times, not only giving him the first set, but leaving him a break up in the second.
From there the Australian was able to control proceedings to wrap up one of the best wins of his career.
