What Happened at the Previous ATP Auckland Open?
While the Auckland Open wasn’t held in 2021 and 2022 because of the Covid-19 pandemic, it returned to existence in 2023 when Richard Gasquet overcame Cameron Norrie in the final to lift the title. Gasquet came back from being a set down to clinch his 16th title on the ATP circuit.
The top four seeds had earned a first round bye with only one of the top eight seeds – Norrie – reaching the quarterfinal. Incidentally, Gasquet did not face a single seeded player till he made the title-deciding round.
