The former US Open runner-up is heading into this match after defeating Mariam Bolkvadze in straight sets. It was a win where Pliskova looked in her element throughout the match, as she attempted to keep her winning streak going after her first-round win over Tereza Martincova.
Currently ranked World No. 3, Pliskova has won three big titles – the Brisbane International, Italian Open, the Eastbourne International. She was also the finalist in the Miami Open. Having lost just 12 matches and winning 42 of them in the process, the Czech has been truly ruthless and efficient in her runs.
Moreover, she was also a quarterfinalist in the Roger Cup and Cincinnati Open.
