The British women’s number one Johanna Konta won’t compete in any more tournaments this autumn. As a result, she will miss the Asian tournaments as well as the year-ending WTA Championships.
Konta claimed she had a slight knee pain and subsequently withdrew out of China Open that will be played in Beijing from the last week of September. She aso did not enter herself in the following week’s Wuhan Open to be held in Wuhan, China.
The Brit could still to qualify for the WTA Championships in Shenzhen in China with the top eight along with the 11 others allowed to make it through along with a wildcard.
The current world number 11 will be back in action in mid week of October in Moscow.

Meanwhile, Jamie Murray, the brother of the former Wimbledon winner Andy Murray, feels as though the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) have not been making enough use of the Murray brothers’ success.
He believes that Tennis in Scotland requires more funding for its upbringing and that the money received by the LTA has not been utilized to the players’ best interest.
Murray assures that Scotland if provided with the necessary funding and a proper development plan can be a real force in tournaments such as the Davis Cup.
Jamie is coming off a solid showing at the US Open, winning the mixed doubles title with Bethanie-Mattek Sands and making the men’s doubles semi-final as well.
