Aryna Sabalenka v Elena Rybakina Head to Head

This is the first meeting between the two players on the WTA Tour.

Sabalenka, Looking Dangerous in Wuhan

In a bid to defend her Wuhan Open title, Aryna Sabalenka is leaving no stone unturned. Starting with Aliaksandra Sasnovich in the opener, she has moved past the likes of Danielle Collins and Kiki Bertens to reach the fourth round.

She has won all of her matches so far in straight sets, in a rather dominating and impressive fashion. Sabalenka dropped just three games against Sasnovich and one game against Collins. As for Bertens, the Belarusian started off on a blistering note took the first set 6-1, before facing some resistance in the second.

Fresh off her US Open doubles title win with Elise Mertens, Sabalenka has been riding a wave of confidence that is taking her to new heights. Following a mediocre spell through the season, the number nine seed now looks prime to go the distance in Wuhan.

Rybakina, Working Hard

Elena Rybakina may be a player who is currently World No. 50, but the 20-year-old is undoubtedly among the most hardworking players on the circuit at the moment.

With a win-loss tally of 49-18, she has played in a lot of tournaments and delivered a few good runs too. For instance, she won the Bucharest Open – her maiden WTA singles title – by defeating Patricia Maria Tig in the final. A few months later, she reached the final in the Jiangxi Open, where she had to settle for the runner-up trophy.

Additionally, she also reached the semifinal in the Libema Open and has won three ITF events as well this season. As for her run in Wuhan, she has so far defeated Lin Zhu and Ons Jabeur, before getting a walkthrough against Simona Halep in the third round.

Sabalenka v Rybakina Tips & Predictions

Rybakina has proven herself to be a hard-working player who is capable of putting up a fight. Having survived a scare of sorts against Halep, she will not let go of this wonderful opportunity here to reach the semifinal. As for Sabalenka, she is playing with a level of efficiency not seen before from her in a while. Expect the Belarusian to face some resistance but she should come out on the top.
