Stefanos Tsitsipas v Dusan Lajovic Head to Head
The pair have clashed twice before on the tour with both the players winning one match each. Lajovic won their first meeting back in Wimbledon 2017 and Tsitsipas avenged the loss in Rome the following year.
Tsitsipas Looking to Arrest Free Fall Before the Year Ends
2018 was a breakthrough year for Tsitsipas, he reached the finals at the Dubai Open & Madrid Masters & won his first career title in Stockholm. He ended the year with a hugely impressive victory at the Next Gen ATP Finals & continued his excellent form this year by reaching Semifinals at the Australian Open where he beat Roger Federer in the round of 16.
Since then he added further two titles by winning at Marselliele & Estoril & also reached the finals at the Madrid Masters. His season took a nosedive from that point onwards as he has suffered multiple early-round exits in the second half of the season.
Since then he has crashed out of the first round of six tournaments including the Wimbledon and the US Open, just last week he retired from his round of 16 clash due to an illness.
Currently ranked number seven in the world, Tsitsipas will be hoping to arrest this bad slump of form and qualify for the World Tour Finals where he is currently sixth in the race and can not afford to drop any more points.

Dusan Lajovic: Clay Court Specialist Will Have it Tough
Tennis gods finally seem to be smiling on Dusan Lajovic as he finally managed to win his first ATP title at Umag earlier this year after more than 12 years of turning pro. This year he has also beaten some big names like Kei Nishikori, Daniil Medvedev, and Dominic Thiem.
He too like his opponent comes into the match on the back of an unspectacular run of results. He hasn’t gone beyond the second round of any of his last five tournaments. Currently ranked 23 in the world he will be hoping to regain his form to replicate his quarter-final showing at the same event the previous year.
Stefanos Tsitsipas v Dusan Lajovic Predictions & Tips
Tsitsipas relies heavily on his consistent game and fitness to grind out his opponent. Whereas Lajovic is predominantly a clay-court player, and his game is revolved around being a dominant puncher & retriever.
I would pick Tistsipas to go through in straight sets given the hard courts and muggy conditions in Beijing.
Tips: Tsitsipas to go through in straight sets 1/3 at 888Sport
