David Goffin v Pablo Carreno Busta Predictions & Preview

This is the fourth meeting between the two players. They are meeting for the third time in a little over a month, however. While Goffin won at the US Open, the Spaniard had a convincing win more recently at the Metz 250.

Both players are on the comeback trail from injuries and poor form. While Goffin has been further along the comeback, being a finalist at Halle (ATP 500) and the Cincinnati (ATP 1000), Carreno Busta has taken longer to get back into his groove. But, an ATP 250 title win last week at the Chengdu Open will have bolstered his confidence plenty.

Another gritty clash between those two strong baseliners, with both players looking to end their seasons strong and confident. While Goffin is ranked 15th in the world, and Carreno Busta just inside the top 40, there is not that much to choose between them currently.

Expect a closer battle than Metz this time around; but the confident Spaniard may just edge out Belgium’s Goffin in three sets.

Tip: Carreno Busta to win in three sets: 7/2 with Unibet

Novak Djokovic v Go Soeda Predictions & Preview

World number one Novak Djokovic plays wild card Japanese veteran Go Soeda in the second round at the ATP 500 in Tokyo. This is the first meeting between both players.

Djokvoic is playing at the Tokyo Open for the first time. He is also returning from a shoulder injury that caused him to pull out of the fourth round at the US Open, and played his first match upon return against Australian qualifier Alexei Popyrin. The Serb won a routine straight sets match and said the shoulder felt fine and pain free.

Japanese veteran Go Soeda has been on the tour for more than a decade, and at age 35, is ranked outside the top 125 in the world. He was ranked as high as 57, in 2012. Wild card Soeda surprised all by defeating Jan-Lennard Struff in the opening round.

Despite the home crowd, Djokovic will be too strong here and should win in straight sets.

Alex de Minaur v Lloyd Harris Predictions & Preview

This is the first meeting between 20-year old Alex de Minaur and 22 year old Lloyd Harris.

Aussie de Minaur has had a strong season, winning three ATP titles including the ATP 250 at Zhuhai last week. He is ranked number 25 and has shown all the promise to be a force to reckon with on the tour for years to come. He also had a good run at the US Open making the second week, defeating Kei Nishikori en route.

Lloyd Harris was not a name known to many, before he won the first set against Roger Federer in their Wimbledon opener. He did well last week to make the semi-finals of the ATP Chengdu Open, and is now ranked within the top 100 in the world.

A battle between two promising talents on the cards; the Aussie is a lot further ahead of the South African and should win in straight sets.

Tip: De Minaur in straight sets: 4/6 with Unibet

Yoshihito Nishioka v Lucas Pouille Predictions & Preview

This is the second meeting between the two players, since their meeting on the Brisbane hard courts almost four years ago, which Pouille won.

Frenchman Lucas Pouille is looking to get back to the form that took him to the top ten in the world in early 2018. He was an Australian Open quarter-finalist, but has somehow not managed to maintain the same consistency the rest of the year. Pouille did well however to defeat Polish rising star Herbert Hurkacz in the first round, after having lost to him twice this year already.

Japan’s Yoshihito Nishioka has had a breakthrough year, moving into the top 100, and defeating his hero and countryman Kei Nishikori en route. He did well to defeat the in-form Portuguese Joao Sousa in the first round, with familiar conditions and home support.

A good match on the cards, and though Pouille is the more seasoned of them both, the Japanese crowd will do their best to push their local along. Expect a tight match, with Pouille edging through in three sets.

Tip: Pouille to win in three sets: 10/11 with Unibet
