Dimitrov Steady But Will Be Hoping for a Lot More
The Bulgarian would have hoped to come into this year with a lot more confidence under his belt given his performance at the US Open last season. However, things have been slightly lukewarm, form-wise for Dimitrov.
Two wins in the ATP Cup were followed by the Australian Open second round ouster at the hands of little-known Tommy Paul. What would have disappointed him even more was his second round exit at the Montpellier Open having gotten himself a bye as the fourth seed.
The good news? He had a rather tricky first round opponent at Rotterdam in the form of Denis Shapovalov, but the latter’s lack of form would have helped. Dimitrov defeated his Canadian opponent in straight sets to march into the second round.

Auger-Aliassime Overcomes Favourite Struff
With Auger-Aliassime having shown scratchiness in form all of the second half of last year and the early part of this one, admittedly our prediction was for Struff to win his opener against him. Auger-Aliassime had started off as a second favourite in that encounter but went on to defeat Struff in three sets to set up this meeting but more importantly regain some of his flailing confidence.
That being said, the Canadian has already lost five of 11 matches he’s played this season which includes defeats to far lower-ranked opponents than him. At the ATP Cup there were three defeats in four matches. At the Australian Open after that, he failed to make it past the first round after falling to Ernests Gulbis.
And then there was the Montpellier Open where he won his opener with great difficulty and then crashed in the second in straight sets. Can he test an erratic but talented Dimitrov?
Grigor Dimitrov v Felix Auger-Aliassime Predictions & Tips
Dimitrov is 1/2 to win this one, he is that big a favourite but don’t count out his opponent given how the Bulgarian often shows inconsistency, even between two matches. A three-setter could be the way this is headed.
Tip: Three sets in the match: 7/5 (Click here to get these odds with Unibet)
