Rybakina with a Solid Win-Loss This Year

15 played, 13 won. Rybakina has been on a roll with her only two defeats this season having come at the Australian Open to Ash Barty in the third round and Ekaterina Alexandrova in the final of the Shenzhen Open.

That aside, she won the Hobart International in the lead-up to the first major of the year, and while the opponents weren’t the strongest, it has given her a nice push up the rankings. Which is where she went from 36th in the world to her current, career-best of 25th, but even better has been her performance over the past 14 months.

Rybakina hit a season-low of 196th in the world last year but clawed back with a title win in Bucharest, making it to a total of four semifinals. This year, she has already won one title and entered her second final, doubling the tally from 2019.

Dodin in a Surprise Run

Dodin, a former top-50 player, been a surprise quarterfinalist, after having lost in the first qualifying round at the Australian Open, and then winning just one match at an ITF event after that.

Faced with the prospect of featuring in the qualifiers here, she won both those matches before the real, big shock. She crushed Viktoria Kuzmova in her first round 6-2, 6-2 and then stunned British number one Johanna Konta in straight sets as well.

The Frenchwoman is already jumped up to 130th in the rankings, up 29 places as a result of this showing and a win here could go a long way in helping her push towards the top 100 mark.

Elena Rybakina v Oceane Dodin Predictions & Tips

Rybakina, not surprisingly, is a favourite but rather interestingly, it’s not as one-sided as it might seem. Which is why the odds of 4/9 for a Rybakina win sound tempting and even more so of a straight-set semifinal entry.

Tip: Rybakina to win in straight sets: 11/10 (Click here to get these odds with Unibet)
