Dusan Lajovic v Lorenzo Sonego Predictions & Preview
This will be the second time Lajovic and Sonego will be clashing, with their last match having come at the Monte Carlo Masters last year. Lajovic had won that quarterfinal in straight sets to set up a semifinal against Daniil Medvedev. Lajovic, ranked 23rd in the world right now, is at his career-best, thanks majorly due to his performance at the ATP Cup and then a third round appearance at the Australian Open.
And having gotten knocked out of the Rio Open in the first round last year, pushing deeper into this season’s Rio Open will only help his push towards the top 20. A word of caution though, Casper Ruud had sent him packing in the second round last week at the Argentina Open on clay and Sonego is a solid, clay court player too.
Lonego, now 52nd in the world, has had a wretched start to the season though. His win over Leonardo Mayer in the first round here was his first of the season after having lost five in a row including two in two on clay. And even there, he needed three sets to win it.
No surprises then Lajovic starts off 4/9 to win this and 6/5 for a straight-set victory.
Tip: Lajovic to win in straight sets: 6/5 (Click here to get these odds with bet365)

Borna Coric v Thiago Seyboth Wild Predictions & Preview
A second round match between a former world number 12 and the 206th-ranked, 19-year-old Seyboth Wild for a place in the last eight. Seyboth Wild won his first round match Alejandro Fokino, which was his first main draw victory in nearly a year, having earlier played in the Australian Open qualifying, Punta del Este Challenger and Cordoba Open and lost each of the match.
Coric himself hasn’t has been in the best of form, having entered this competition on the back of a five-match losing streak. He did win his opening round match against Juan Ignacio Londero in straight sets but was stretched in both those. The relief to have won it was palpable and having now an opponent ranked outside the top 200 will be a huge chance to push on further.
Tip: Coric to win in straight sets: 1/1 (Click here to get these odds with bet365)
Joao Domingues v Gianluca Mager Predictions & Preview
Qualifiers Joao Domingues and Gianluca Mager will face off for a rare berth in the quarterfinal of an ATP event, with the stakes rather high for this contest as a result. Domingues was stretched in his second qualifier to three sets, before he was drawn to face another qualifier in the first round – Federico Gaio – and he came through in straight sets.
The big upset of the competition came in the Mager first round match, when he defeated the Argentina Open champion Casper Ruud. What made the win even more special is it came in straight sets, and if he can maintain that kind of form, he will start off as a favourite here. However, given what’s at stake, this could be a fighting match which goes to three sets.
Tip: Three sets in the match: 8/5 (Click here to get these odds with Unibet)
