There was an approximate rise of 13.6% in 2020 as compared to 2019’s prize money with a double digit percentage increase for qualifiers and early-round losers.
Players who only qualified for the qualifiers and lost took home A$20,000 this year which is an increase of 33 per cent while players who got out in the first round will win A$90,000 as prize money which is 20 per cent increase.
The winner and the finalist see small increases of 0.49% and 0.73% with the winner taking home A$4,120,000 and the finalist getting A$2,065,000.
This year, Novak Djokovic managed to win again and take the great prize money home but Naomi lost in the third round to Coco Gauff and Sofia Kenin managed to bag the women’s singles champion crown.
