Alize Cornet v Ysaline Bonaventure Head to Head
The pair have met once before, in the first round in Auckland, earlier this year. On that occasion, Cornet came from behind to win in three sets.

Cornet is on course to add to her record, where she has reached the third round on three previous occasions, although the last of those was in 2014.
She reached this stage after a match with Lauren Davis of the United States of fluctuating fortunes.
Cornet started well enough, and a single break of serve was enough for her to secure an early advantage as she took the first set. However, her form then deserted her in the second set, and she lost her serve three times, winning just a single game. However, then it was the turn of the American to falter, and Cornet romped through the third set which she won to love.
She will be hoping that will be the stepping stone for a run deep into this tournament, although, she knows that, if she comes through this match, she potentially faces a third-round meeting with the number seven seed, Madison Keys.
Now ranked 56 in the world, it has been two years since Cornet won the last of her six WTA titles, and even further back to her glory days in 2014, when she beat Serena Williams, then the world number one, three times.

Bonaventure, the Third-ranked Belgian Player
The world 121, Bonaventure is into the second round after her first ever win in a Grand Slam event.
She recorded one of her best ever results on the senior tour, by beating Shuai Zhang of China on Tuesday, coming from behind after dropping the first set.
The second set saw both women struggle to hold serve, but Bonaventure levelled because she was able to show more consistency than her Chinese opponent. Then, in the third set she was able to break the Zhang serve twice and then served out the match.
Bonaventure has little experience at this level. She spends most of her time on the ITF circuit, where she has won 11 singles and 13 doubles titles.
The most recent of those singles wins came this year when she won the tournament in Andrezieux-Boutheon in France.
She is currently the third-ranked Belgian player behind Elise Mertens and Kirsten Flipkens.

Cornet will be strongly fancied to beat a player ranked 65 places below her in the world, and who is very inexperienced at this level. She won the previous match between the two of them, and should so again.
