Amanda Anisimova v Katrina Scott Head to Head
The world number 28 Anisimova has never played against her shock opponent Katrina Scott who is not just 16 years old but also ranked outside the top 600 in the world.

Anisimova Stretched but Through in Straight Sets
While we had predicted a straight-set win for Anisimova, there was no doubting the worry of inconsistency. A talented youngster, Anisimova hasn’t had the kind of results she would have liked this season.
Some of it is obviously down to a personal tragedy in the second half of the last season and at one stage early this season Anisimova seemed to have shrugged that off to make the semifinal of the Auckland Open. However that result aside, Anisimova has seen a lot of struggles in 2020.
Back to back first round defeats at the Australian Open and WTA Dubai and a retirement from the third round of the Qatar Open because of a gastrointestinal issue were her other results pre-pandemic break. And after returning to the sport, Anisimova played at the Cincinnati Open and was knocked out in the second round.
Which is why a strong opening performance was the need of the hour. And while it took her an hour and 27 minutes and she was broken four times by Viktoriya Tomova, Anisimova responded the way she would have hoped for too. She clinched the match 7-5, 7-5.
Now, Anisimova faces an opponent who is on her Grand Slam debut.

Wildcard Scott Stuns Vikhlyantseva
As mentioned earlier, Scott is ranked outside the top 600, playing in her first Grand Slam having gotten herself a wildcard and at just 16 years of age not too many had given her much of a hope. She was 6/4 at the start of the match against Natalia Vikhlyantseva and went on to defeat her 131st-ranked opponent in straight sets.
Scott was never supposed to play in this tournament, but late withdrawals gave her that opportunity. By the looks of things, she has made the most of it already. A juniors Grand Slam player, Scott had never played in a WTA tournament before this either, making it a win to remember.
Her career best performance came in the Malibu ITF competition last season where, as a qualifier, she made it to the semifinal.
Defeating Anisimova might be a tough job but for now, Scott, who has been a part of the American Fed Cup team too, will be looking to soak in the moment and get the most out of it.
Amanda Anisimova v Katrina Scott Prediction & Tip
At 1/8, Anisimova might be a tad longer than what one would have given her against a 600+ ranked player. Expect a straight-set grab for Anisimova.
Tip: Anisimova to win in straight sets: 4/11 (bet365)
