Babolat released the 10th edition of their explosive and original racquet, the Pure Drive, earlier this year.

The Pure Drive, which is one of Babolat’s three ranges of tennis racquets, caters to players who are aiming to derive a lot of power from their shots.

It has been used in the past by Kim Clijsters and as things stand, it is used by the likes of Italy’s Fabio Fognini and Grand Slam winners Garbine Muguruza and Sofia Kenin in today’s age.

First launched in 1994, the Babolat Pure Drive offers power along with versatility with this latest edition that was launched earlier in 2020 also possessing more frame stability to offer some extra control.

What that also does is delivering ‘explosivity’ which is possible because of the speed on the ball off the racquet thanks to this stability of the frame.

The 10th edition follows its previous one which was released in 2018, and according to Babolat, this new racquet exhibits all the benefits from the ninth edition along with its fresh benefits.

These include the aforementioned explosivity, and the Smacwrap technology which helps players with an improved feel.

This Smacwrap technology filters the vibrations thanks to ball smashing the racquet strings such that the player can sense only those which “contribute to the sense of a good ball contact, while the potentially harmful vibrations that can lead to problems with the arm’s tendons are minimised.”

Babolat’s other two ranges include the Pure Aero, which help players looking for spin from their racquets, like Rafael Nadal and the Pure Strike, used by Dominic Thiem who want more control.
